Job Description:
What are we looking for:Gartner is looking for an analyst to
provide research and advisory to CIO and Senior IT leaders in the
Banking industry globally, and to key roles in Vendors selling to
Banking IT Organizations. Your experience will include strategic
planning and execution of major technology initiatives at Banks: -
-Experience from the Banking industry, ideally focused on payments
in areas like data and analytics, payments architecture, fintechs,
and vendor selection for consumer and corporate customersPayments
systems from providers like Finacle, Finastra, FIS, Temenos, etc.
and for important technologies such as AI, APIs, blockchain, cloud,
or data management.Understanding business model changes such as
embedded finance and the increased competitiveness of fintechs with
traditional banksYour experience comes with strong interest in
driving innovation across the technology value change in support of
banks' payment businesses.You will work with a collaborative team
of highly experienced analysts and advisors to build authoritative
research and advice that directly addresses the priorities and
challenges of clients aligned to the Banking sector including
technology providers, consultants, and investors.This
includes:Serving as an authority on Banking optimization,
modernization and transformationCreating both provocative and
pragmatic research and advice on best and emerging practices for
CIO and IT leaders to support the digital transformation of their
institutionCreating both provocative and pragmatic research and
advice on best and emerging practices for vendor organizations
(mostly product leaders) on the evolution and modernization of IT
used for payments at banksSupporting our sales and client service
teams in delivering insight to clients and prospects.Presenting on
Banking research and related thought leadership in one-to-one and
one-to-many forums, including client presentations and Gartner
eventsDeveloping predictions and scenarios about the future of
Banking which emphasize the specific client actions relative to
technology that will predispose success in these futures.At

will need: 10+ years of relevant field or industry experience in
payments at a bankSubject Matter Expert around:Banking technology
and strategies for systems that support the delivery of consumer
and corporate payments.Strong understanding in at least one of the
following technologies: AI, APIs, automation, blockchain, cloud, or
data managementUnderstanding the business and IT capabilities
needed for banks to serve their payments customers. Enterprise
architecture experience is a plus. -Strong passion for learning
about and providing insight into new trends and developments in the
market around the globeVendor selection experience is a
plusExcellent English language communication skills - writing
experience a plus. Fluency in a second language is also an
advantage.Proficient in analyzing and synthesizing data; can
effectively apply patterns and frameworks while drawing and
defending conclusions to client challengesSubject matter expert
comfortable presenting at large and small-scale speaking
engagementsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in
cross-team settings with other colleagues from the Financial
Services practice or other Gartner subject matter experts with
different domain coverageDeep knowledge of the global and
competitive landscape within subject area as well as the interplay
