Reporting to the Program Director of the Certificate of Advanced Accounting Proficiency

(CAAP) Program, in partnership with the Accounting Department,, this position works closely

with the CAAP student population and focuses on career development and job readiness support.

In addition to foundational career development workshops, and 1:1 advising, the Accounting

Department works closely with employers to arrange on campus recruiting, and , information

sessions and other events designed to "build awareness and brand". This position requires an

individual with flexibility that is capable of interacting in a cross-functional team setting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

CAREER ADVISING & SERVICES:

A. Coach CAAP students on career management issues.

a. Resume and cover letter reviews; interviewing skills;; networking skills; and the

independent job search.

B. Critique of resumes .

C. Provide guidance on employer targets, job search tactics.

D. Lead and execute CAAP workshops on topics such as resume and cover letter

preparation, interviewing, and networking. Execute CAAP student engagement

communication efforts to students, as needed. Support for the execution of CAAP

operational services (workshop surveys, student follow-up, logging coaching

appointments, etc.).

EMPLOYER ENGAGEMENT & SERVICES:

Qualifications:

A. Master's degree in Career Counseling or related field required. Minimum of 3-5 years of

experience in areas such as employer relations, human resources, higher education, or

business

B. Career advising, recruitment experience, preferably in business or technology highly

desired, coaching certification an added plus

C. Strong skills in resume critique and review and providing feedback, knowledge of career-

development process, and practice delivering workshops

D. MS Office, PowerPoint, experience with web-based meeting software and online learning

delivery, and social networking/marketing desired

E. Flexibility for expanded hours during recruitment season and special events

F. Maturity in being able to establish credibility with CAAP populationand other internal

and external constituents

G. Strong interpersonal and communication skills-written, verbal/public speaking. Must be

able to command/earn attention in a small meeting or a large presentation.

H. Attention to detail, time management, customer service and team skills desired. Strong

organizational and project management skills required. Must have the ability to

multitask, meet deadlines, and work successfully in a fast-paced environment.
