year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings.

considered. Seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support
a dynamic educational environment in Newark, NJ. This role involves
providing vital communication access for Deaf and Hard of Hearing
students across local schools, ensuring an inclusive and effective
learning experience. Key Responsibilities: Facilitate clear and
accurate communication between students, faculty, and staff using
American Sign Language (ASL). Interpret classroom instruction,
school events, and meetings in real-time. Collaborate with
educators and support services to tailor communication strategies
for individual student needs. Travel to multiple school locations
within the Newark area as assigned. Maintain confidentiality and
adhere to professional standards of ethical practice.
Qualifications: Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with
demonstrated interpreting experience in educational settings.
Knowledge of Deaf culture and educational terminology. Strong
interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a
school environment. Flexibility to travel locally between school
sites. Relevant certification or accreditation preferred but not
required. Location: Newark, New Jersey (local travel required)
