What You Will Be Doing
In this key support role, you will perform the below listed duties
of a Electrical/Electronics Service Engineer, and will be
responsible for electrical troubleshooting, system and
device/component repair and maintenance of analytical instruments
and ancillary equipment at our laboratory locations, primarily in
the South Bay area, but will also include other locations on an

" Troubleshoot and debug electronic circuitry (analog/digital)
" As an electrical engineer, provide technical support to other
service team members.
" Perform and log routine/preventive maintenance on instruments and
peripherals according to maintenance plan/schedule.
" Maintain and organize adequate stock levels of spare parts and
" Find new sources or develop/design upgrades for obsolete parts
" Maintain, organize, and create technical documentation,
procedures, schematics, work instructions, and parts lists.
" Provide timely updates to management in the form of status
reports and service reports.
" Assist with the development and implementation of computer-based
service management system.
" Assist and support facility/infrastructure when needed to
maintain suitable working environment for instruments.
The position will primarily support the instruments in the
Sunnyvale, California lab, but will have to perform periodic travel
( when that is allowed again, that is!) to other laboratories
sites, which will include occasional travel to other sites (both
Domestic and internationally located)
What You Need for this Position
" AS degree in electronics, electrical engineering with 5+ years
experience troubleshooting equipment or instrumentation or BSEE
with 2+ years of experience troubleshooting equipment or
" The individual should have experience of anywhere in the 1-3+
years trouble shooting and repairing circuitry, vacuum systems,
analog/digital circuitry, electro-mechanical assemblies, and
" Strong problem investigation and resolution, debug and electronic
- Experience with Cameca (SIMS, Atom Probe/APT) , and Physical
Electronics systems ( Surface Analysis, XPS/Scanning
Microprobes,etc) a plus.
Excellent Communication Skills
- This person needs to be able to communicate effectively with
end users, manager, technical staff and able to provide updates,
findings summaries, documentation etc.
Must be highly skilled in proper use of tools of trade, able to
operate independently and as part of team, provide and follow
written and verbal instructions, effectively utilize multiple forms
of communication (e-mail, phone, etc.), and maintain a professional
and cordial manner towards co-workers, vendors, and customers
throughout the daily execution of duties.

Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) facility.
