Job DescriptionSolidigm IT is looking for a Sr. Network Engineer who will be responsible for design, maintenance and administration of our company's global data networks. This position requires an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness. You will be working closely with internal security teams and users of our network in order to identify potential issues and fix existing problems.

To be a successful candidate, you will need to have a strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware. You will also need to be able to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network devices including firewalls, routers, switches, servers and controllers. A deep knowledge of networking and network infrastructure protocols is highly desired.This position can be remote.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct complex global network architecture design, ensuring all aspects of the entire enterprise hybrid networks are architecturally sound and highly available.
• Perform complex hybrid network administration, including, but not limited to, software updates, patches and configuration of network equipment.
• Operate master consoles to monitor the performance of network equipment and perform traffic analysis.
• Research existing and emerging technologies that align with business requirements and provide effective solutions based upon extensive professional experience, industry best practices, and knowledge of industry technologies through formal training and/or self-study.
• Work with emerging technologies such as SDN and SD-WAN.
• Consult with network users about solving system problems.
• Identify gaps in processes or documentation and suggests improvements.
• Create accurate network diagrams and documentation for current/future network and communication systems.
• Conduct capacity planning and assist with Scope of Work creation.
• Focus on automation and network user self service wherever possible and/or reasonable.
• Oversight of certain MSP resources.Qualifications
  
  REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Strong experience of network infrastructure and network hardware, including LAN/WAN support, routing, switching, firewalls and wireless products.
  • Routing experience (BGP, OSPF, etc.) including configuration, redistribution and troubleshooting.
  • Solid understanding of IP addressing, 802.1x Network Access Control, subnetting, and VLANs.
  • Understanding of QoS, routing protocol redistribution, route filtering and ACLs.
  • Packet capture experience and fluency with Wireshark.
  • Familiar with the use of monitoring, management, diagnostic tools including log aggregation and the use of SNMP protocol.
  • Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network layout and communication systems.
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) and/or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certifications or equivalent knowledge.
  • Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to provide technical and project leadership to other staff members.DESIRABLE SKILLS:
    • Palo Alto firewall experience.
    • Microsoft Azure or similar experience.
