Job Description:Cloudera is looking for a Backend Senior Sta Engineer to join the Data Hub product development team, part of its Cloudera Data Platform service. This team delivers launching and managing workload clusters on the three public cloud platforms - AWS, Azure and GCP. The workload clusters are clusters with big data workloads like Hive, Spark, Impala, Kudu, Kafka, and NiFi with security and governance controls of Ranger and Atlas. The challenges include managing cloud infrastructure of networking, VMs, disks and DB, handling failures, scaling, availability and security in the public cloud. -As the on-prem customers migrate to public cloud, Datahub is the familiar experience for their migration, as compared to the other container based experiences. The role offers significant opportunities for growth. -Responsibilities -Be the technology leader and demonstrate ownership of critical platform servicesGathering functional requirements, developing technical specifications, and project & test planning -Responsible for the design and architecture of the project -Responsible for engineering and operational excellence for the team's deliverables -Designing/developing REST services with high availability and resiliency -Resolve defects/bugs during QA testing, pre-production, production, and post release patches -Roughly 80% hands-on coding -Work cross-functionally with various teams: product management, QE, various product lines, or business units to drive forward results -Act in a technical leadership capacity: Mentoring junior engineers, new team members, and applying technical expertise to challenging programming and design problems -Experience with Agile Development, SCRUM, or Extreme Programming methodologies -Qualifications -BS/MS in computer science or equivalent work experience -Have at least 8 years for experience in Server Side TechnologiesStrong Java, Java EE skills and Spring framework -Experience building scalable, robust and secure Enterprise applicationsStrong understanding of the Software design/architecture process -Self-driven and motivated, with a strong sense of ownership and craftsmanshipStrong written and verbal communication skillsPluses -Experience with Apache hadoop stack -Experience with containerization (Kubernetes) -Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure)SummaryLocation: US-California-Santa Clara (office 1); Canada -Nova Scotia-Remote; Canada > Quebec > Montreal; Canada > Ontario > Toronto; US-New York-Remote; Canada > Ontario > Ottawa; Canada > Alberta > Calgary; Canada > British Columbia > Vancouver; US-Florida-Remote; US-Washington-Remote; US-Georgia-Remote; US-Texas-Remote; US-Illinois-Remote; Canada -Quebec-Remote; USA > DC > Washington D.C.Type: Full time
