Position DescriptionVimaan is seeking a talented
multi-disciplinary Manufacturing Engineering Lead to define,
implement, and continuously improve processes and be the
manufacturing partner with design engineering, product deployment
and field applications teams.About Vimaan Robotics, Inc.We're
Vimaan Robotics, an early stage Silicon Valley startup. We're
enabling a paradigm shift in the way robots, cloud and the SaaS
platform are leveraged in commercial applications. Our proprietary
robotics solution enables full autonomy and scalability. Our
IaaS/SaaS model, generates rich, actionable data for our commercial
and enterprise customers. Our target markets extend across a vast
swath of commercial applications-with an initial focus on warehouse
inventory management. Our founders have a track record of founding
multiple companies. We're still in stealth, funded by blue chip
investors, have engagements with Fortune 500 customers, and have a
dynamite team in both US and India. This is a great opportunity to
be an early member of the Vimaan team.Key Responsibilities1. Work
with design team to identify and incorporate manufacturing and
assembly optimizations.2. Design, implement, and validate fixtures,
equipment, and process controls to ensure stable manufacturing
within fast development schedules.3. Proactively identify and
mitigate productivity and yield losses.4. Define line layout,
provide progressively improved efficiency and reduced variability
using lean and six sigma methods.5. Responsible for establishing
the relationship between product design features, the selected
methods required to manufacture the product, with focus on those
designs that require circuit board and electronic component
assembly, electromechanical assemblies, mounting fixtures for
sensors, etc.6. Provide detailed assessments and critical Design
For Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) review of engineering
designs/drawings of components and assemblies.7. Assess the design
intent, manufacturability, proper dimensioning and tolerancing of
components and assemblies to allow product to transition into the
manufacturing environment.8. Establish critical to quality and
performance KPI metrics and dashboards.QualificationsBS in an
engineering required, preferably Electrical, Mechanical,
Electronics, Materials Science or other related field.An advanced
degree is preferred.Statistical Process Control, GRR and a bend for
experimental designSelf-starter, hands-on and posses a can do
attitudeEnthusiasm to dive in and provide creative solutions to
complex problems.Excellent problem-solving, organizational,
communication, and cross-functional teamwork skillsExperience and
Skills1. Bachelor's degree with 0-2 years of experience in a
manufacturing environment with2. responsibility for manufacturing
process development, assembly yield, test fixture design, quality
improvements and manufacturing documentation.3. Experience in
development or manufacturing of robotic devices or industrial
automation systems preferred4. Knowledge in the application of
Design for Manufacturing (DFM), including industry standard
methodologies and experience in applying DFM to new product designs
preferred5. Use of process improvement techniques such as 6 sigma
and lean preferred6. Proficient ability to read and interpret
engineering drawings and schematics is a must7. Experience writing
and executing equipment and process validations preferred8.
Experience working with an integrated new product development team
preferredThis role is located in Santa Clara, CA.
