If our purpose-driven dedication inspires you, we invite you to consider joining our team.As a Financial Analytics Engineer on the Financial Technology Team, you'll be tasked with special projects for the Investment Management function at Edelman Financial Engines. Such projects have included prototypes of new service offerings, automated systems for algorithm testing, deep-dive analytics and machine learning, and dashboards/tools for portfolio management oversight.The team specializes in using Python to integrate open-source technologies (e.g., RabbitMQ, MongoDb) into back-end applications that interact with production systems through APIs. Fluency with relational databases is critical. Creating Excel-based tools with modern database features may be needed to assist the Portfolio Management team.Responsibilities:

• Build, administer and scale prototype "pilot" products and programs.
• Design and develop applications and system architectures to support transactions and portfolio analytics.
• Create and back-test financial portfolios. Build and maintain software tools to research and test portfolio optimization/forecasting strategies.
• Build\maintain ELT data pipelines and operational dashboards.
• Ensure accurate documentation of testing procedures and software tools.Requirements:
  • 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering (3+ years using Python).
  • Experience working across the entire software technology stack. Experience with Python-based MVC frameworks (Django, Flask) a plus.
  • Experience with Pandas ecosystem (Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, Seaborn, Bokeh, Plotly, SciKit-Learn) a plus.
  • Experience with ELT data pipelines and sql is a plus.
  • Technical academic background in computer science, economics, engineering, mathematics, or equivalent
