Role:

We have an immediate opening for a Signal Integrity/Power Integrity engineer in the Server Division working on platform design and customer support for the EPYC line of CPU products. Candidates will have excellent written/oral communication skills and should be comfortable working in both self-directed and team environments. A growth mindset with the abilitiy to work with little supervision is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Board/system-level power delivery network AC+DC simulation for low-voltage/high-current supplies.
  • Deep understanding of VRM working mechanism and both passive, active modeling
  • System-level signal integrity understanding of future DDR5 memory bus including silicon IO, package, and board.
  • Electromagnetic modeling of 3-D structures including vias, connectors, sockets.
  • Implementation of a HVM solution-space methodology.
  • Work closely with the customer support organization and to support customers with signal integrity issues.
    Requirements:
    • In-depth knowledge of transmission line theory and microwave engineering concepts such as S-parameter, etc.
    • Experienced in system-level timing analysis considering effects from silicon IO, package, and board.
    • Familiar with state-of-the-art PCB stackup/construction and microprocessor package stack up/construction.
    • In-depth knowledge of AC/DC power delivery, power integrity analysis.
    • Good knowledge with DDR5 Architecture and have good concept of DDR5 performance validation
    • Have experience in 3-D modeling with ANSYS HFSS/Q3D and 2.5-D with ANSYS SIWAVE.
    • Have experience in modeling with Sigrity PowerDC and PowerSI.
    • Have experience with DSO, TDR, VNA measurement tools/techniques.
    • UNIX/Windows operating systems
      Academic Credentials:
      • BS-EE or MS-EE
      • 3+ years of proven experience in power integrity design and high-speed board-level design
