SummaryPosted: Role Number:200457986The Machine Learning Platform & Infrastructure (MLPI) group builds the platform that enables the next generation of intelligent experiences on all Apple products & services. MLPI makes it possible for Apple engineers to innovate ML-driven product features rapidly and at scale. Within MLPI, the Data Privacy Platform team provides solutions for Data Governance, Compliance, and Privacy-Preservation of all analytics, experimentation, and ML feature engineering.

We are looking for an experienced leader who wants to bring their passion for infrastructure & distributed systems to build world-class data privacy platforms/products at scale and across different cloud environments. Our platform is built using a variety of systems and services, from bare metal to managed infrastructure services, and everything in between. We use existing and open-source systems when possible, but do not shy away from building new products ourselves.

As the Engineering Manager for the Data Privacy Platform team, you will work closely with many cross-functional teams and lead the planning, execution, and success of technical projects with the ultimate purpose of ensuring data privacy and compliance with our data. This role requires strong technical expertise as well as relationship management, program creation and management, and multi-functional coordination.Key QualificationsExperience in delivering distributed systems and data infrastructure in a production setting.Strong experience leading and growing successful infrastructure teams that consist of multiple software engineers and managers.Experience with building privacy-preserving secure data infrastructure and the data governance framework to register, manage, and control data lifecycle to meet privacy compliance requirements.A passion for building and maintaining systems that scale with a focus on high availability and ease of useExperience managing expectations and relationships with multiple collaborators and project teams across various functional areasExcellent communication and leadership skillsDemonstrated ability to partner with recruiting to grow technical teamsDescriptionThe ideal candidate will have outstanding communication skills, proven infrastructure design, and implementation capabilities, strong business insight, and a highly developed drive to deliver results. They will be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, and will enjoy working in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $173,000 and $299,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
