The compiler team's mission is to deliver cutting-edge performance in SiFive products while working with the community to advance RISC-V architecture and ISA extensions. SiFive is an active participant in the RISC-V ecosystem that opens a vast opportunity to develop the next generation of computer architecture and compiler technology. SiFive engineers are active members and maintainers in many open source projects, and our mission is to work with and drive the RISC-V ecosystem.
We are looking for a senior LLVM compiler team member with proven experience in LLVM scalar and vector code generation. The candidate should demonstrate a track record in cross-team collaboration and in delivering high quality compiler products. -Responsibilities:

  • Work with SiFive's LLVM compiler and architecture teams to improve performance for SiFive CPUs and vector processors
  • Work with SiFive's benchmarking team to analyze performance results and suggest new backend optimizations and scheduling models
  • Work with SiFive's compiler and release teams to release compiler toolchains for use by SiFive teams and customers
    Requirements:
    • Proficient in compiler design and in performance analysis tools
    • 5+ years of compiler development experience including 3+ years of experience in LLVM with a focus in code generation
    • Expertise in LLVM scalar and vector code generation including instruction scheduling, software pipelining, register allocation, TableGen, LLVM IR, Machine IR
    • M.S. or higher degree in Computer Science/Engineering (or equivalent experience)
    • Excellent hands-on C++ programming skills applied to industry standard C++ compilers
    • Good communication and documentation skills and self-motivated
    • You should have strong interpersonal skills and be capable of leading and influencing others in the organizationCompensation Range:$166,600-$225,400Additional Information: This position requires a successful background and reference checks and satisfactory proof of your right to work in United States of America Any offer of employment for this position is also contingent on the Company verifying that you are a authorized for access to export-controlled technology under applicable export control laws or, if you are not already authorized, our ability to successfully obtain any necessary export license(s) or other approvals.
