Job Description:
Title: Technical Accounting Manager/Sr. Accounting
ProfessionalLocation: Santa Clara, CACategory: One-month project
(W2 Contract) with good possibility of extension or conversion
(client is looking to fill an FTE role and this person have good
opportunity to apply for the FTE position.)Start Date: ASAPThe
Technical Accounting Manager will be responsible for the
preparation of technical accounting memos and analysis for
transactions under U.S. GAAP. The position will also work with
external auditors to assist with interim procedures, quarterly
reviews and year-end audits. This position will assist in the
financial reporting process including drafting disclosures and
ensuring supporting schedules are accurate and provided to the
auditors timely. This position will also serve as a point of
contact for questions from the external auditors.* Understand and
prepare trial balance, financial statement bridge schedules, debt
accretion schedules, consolidation of multiple entities and foreign
currency reasonableness test* Read and understand client agreements
and prepare summaries of key terms pertinent to accounting.*
Perform analysis/analytical procedures on small or large data
files, making observations and drawing conclusions, using tools
such as pivot tables, sorting and filtering, lookups and sumifs,
data conversion, etc.* Identify technical accounting issues,
perform sufficient research of accounting literature (Codification,
Inform, and the firm's accounting library) in the assigned areas,
and identify most of the relevant accounting considerations,
propose accounting judgements and solutions.* Gather data from the
client (through inquiries or data requests) pertinent to the
assigned tasks, including validation of completeness and accuracy
of the information gathered.* Prepare PBC lists for client
engagements* Draft accounting memos to address specific issues or
transactions* Prepare financial statement flux analyses for audit
SAS 100 review purposes* Experience in using Workiva is a plus, big
4 experience is a plus.
