Overview:Are you a technology junkie and experienced Internet of Things software developer with a passion for promoting and teaching other developers, while taking a meaningful role in shaping experiences with a platform developer community?Join our company and help us establish and promote delightful experiences within our IoT developer community. You will be the subject matter expert and evangelist for developers on our platform, focused on the end-to-end experience through the entire smart product development cycle, and ensure that we meet the needs of both current and future developers. As the Developer Community Manager for North America, your mission is to educate and engage early adopters and the broader developer community around the company's IoT platform and demonstrate real world success stories. That means being aggressive to establish connections within developer communities and promoting our capabilities via social media groups, events, partnerships and other online forums to attract new developers into the community and keep them actively engaged while learning from their experiences.This role will allow you to contribute to the shaping of a self-service IoT platform and also take a public-facing role representing the platform to developer communities. This role is part marketing, part business developer and part community builder while also doing education and public relations.Role and Responsibilities-- Own the North America developer community strategy in partnership with Operations, Marketing, Cloud team and other key stakeholders.-- Identify, acquire, and nurture an ecosystem of developers that build smart home, smart business and smart industry solutions.-- Recruit developers by evangelizing the company's IoT platform.-- Develop and execute a strategy that drives developer community growth, adoption and healthy engagement.-- Create and manage developer-targeted social media, email campaigns, and content.-- Organize and host developer events, hackathons and meetups.-- Report on developer community metrics.-- Create programs to recognize and promote developer successes.-- Provide feedback on experiences with tools and services to accelerate the growth and engagement of developers.Requirements:-- 3-5 years of experience in building and executing developer community strategies.-- Strong understanding of Internet of Things (IoT) elements including cloud services, wireless connectivity, and mobile applications.-- Working knowledge of wireless protocols such as Wi-Fi, BLE, Zigbee, and others.-- Experience developing IoT applications and connected product solutions.-- Familiarity building applications with cloud providers like AWS, and Azure.-- Understand iOS and Android mobile application development.-- A passion for building a community, both online and in the real world.-- Excellent customer service with a positive attitude is a must.-- Experience in product or community management.-- Excellent communicator, oral and written for small and large audiences.-- A results-driven mentality: making data-driven decisions is second nature.-- Experience managing vibrant online communities is a must.-- Entrepreneurial mindset (self-motivated, tenacious, resourceful, no handbook necessary).
