Job Description:
Contract Hire- Lead Safety Manager Begins September 2019
Compensation: $40-50/hr SUMMARY Responsible for providing site
safety support to electrical contractor on commercial construction
project. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES -include the
following. Other duties may be assigned. Supports the construction
teams by actively engaging them in dialog about safety concerns and
passionately working to find practical proactive solutions to
create continuous safety improvement. Interacts with GC,
Subcontractors, Owners Representatives, and other contractors on
behalf of Company to resolve safety challenges. Performs jobsite
safety audits. Assists the construction teams in incident
notification procedures and in conducting incident investigations
to determine root cause and identify corrective actions. Works with
the Sr. Claims Specialist to manage workers compensation claims on
the projects they are assigned to. Develops and delivers safety
training as needed for the projects. Assists in the creation of JHA
and AHA documentation. Participates in the new hire orientation
process to establish safety expectations for new employees. Stays
current with key changes in the legal and regulatory environment.
Fosters a positive safety culture by demonstrating active care and
concern for the wellbeing of employees, and leads others by
encouraging and exemplifying corporate safety expectations.
Maintains memberships in industry associations and actively
participates in meetings to stay current on industry trends and
leverage networking opportunities.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Strong working knowledge of 29 CFR
1910, 29 CFR 1926, NFPA-70E. 10 or more years of experience in a
safety and health role involved in construction projects.
CERTIFICATIONS OSHA 500 COMPUTER SKILLS -Proficient in software
applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as
well as other databases, systems and software programs that are
commonly utilized in the field. LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read,
analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals,
regulatory standards, and legal documents. Ability to respond
verbally or in writing, at a professional level, to common
inquiries or complaints from customers, coworkers and/or regulatory
agencies. Ability to communicate effectively telephonically or via
email. Ability to effectively present information to company
management, public groups, and/ or clients. REASONING
ABILITYAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts,
and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive
variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form
and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. PERSONAL
QUALITIES: -A strong sense of urgency, flexibility, adaptability to
constant change, attention to details, follow through, and an
attitude of service, cooperation, quality and continuous
improvement in work processes and output. Strong attention to
detail, including regular follow up on action items. Team player
with the ability to work in fast paced environment, handling
multiple tasks and meeting deadlines. Able to recognize and adapt
to people's preferred communication styles to foster productive
communication. PHYSICAL DEMANDS -The physical demands described

construction job sites and must be able to safely navigate them.
The employee will be required to wear various types of protective
equipment: hard hat, safety glasses, safety-toe footwear, goggles,
gloves, reflective vests, hearing protection, etc. WORK ENVIRONMENT
