The Safety Management Systems (SMS)Lead is responsible for supporting the Operational Safety Management Lead in developing & implementing a safety management safety (SMS) program. A successful Safety Management Lead is a natural leader and facilitator, is driven & a self starter, is detail oriented and extremely organized, excels in challenging and complex environments, is able to influence areas of an organization that are not direct reports nor within their immediate department, excels in program/project management; communicates with ease at all levels; thrives in an ambiguous, ever fluid environment; is adept at taking action and resolving conflict; manages through relationships and influence; and is at ease in high stress environments. • Safety Management background working with autonomous or fleet operations in safety critical industries (aviation, trucking, AV dev, etc)
• Expert in managing SMS & enhancing a positive safety culture
• Strong history of successful implementation and management of SMS programs including Safety Policy, Safety Risk Management, Safety Assurance, Safety Promotion Description Together with the Operational Safety Management Lead, you will lead the implementation and management of the organization's SMS program within Apple. As a key stakeholder of the SMS program, either through direct involvement and/or influence, you will ensure successful implementation and on-going management of the organization's SMS program.--- Oversee the SMS Program to include: development of the SMS safety policy requirements, coordinate and facilitate safety risk information and decisions by the appropriate organizational leadership, track SMS risk mitigation actions and maintain safety risk registry, assist in safety promotion programs, awareness and education of key organizational personnel, utilize and trend data from safety reporting program.--- Support the Leadership team in the administration, tracking and planning of Leadership's Safety Management Committee.--- Ensure day to day oversight of the workings of the design, continued improvement & management of the SMS.--- Provide solid documentation of the SMS program and manage metrics that allows Safety performance and quality to be tracked over time to provide for a healthy organizational SMS program.--- Manage relationship with representatives from all organizational identified within the scope of the SMS.--- Develop creative solutions to allow for SAFE and discrete development and testing operations.--- Provide periodic safety performance and strategy updates to senior management.--- Look to solve problems rather than report on them. Education & Experience
  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $150,000 and $269,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
