The Portfolio Management team works as part of the Portfolio and Project Management group to help each customer area within DIA track and manage their portfolio from a strategic vantage point. As part of the Portfolio Management team, the Customer Area Portfolio Manager for Roche Information Solutions will work directly with the Customer-Area heads for Diagnostics and Healthcare Insights and respective Lifecycle Leaders to provide portfolio analysis, insights and recommendation to facilitate portfolio decision making. The Customer Area Portfolio Manager will work closely with Cross Portfolio Managers to think holistically about the Diagnostics portfolio and ensure that strategic trade-offs are made that maximize our impact.   • Ensure holistic portfolio planning of products and services based on strategic priorities
  • Work directly with the Diagnostics and Healthcare Insights Business Area Head to partner on portfolio management
  • Advise on project trade-offs by placing individual decisions in the context of the broader pipeline
  • Support effective decision-making within the individual Business committee
  • Maintain expert knowledge of industry trends, competition, and current/emerging technologies
  • Work with Investor Relations and on specific topics as needs arise
  • Innovate portfolio management by driving the organization to rolling portfolio review
  • Work closely with other functions and teams (e.g. Finance, Portfolio Analytics & Project Management) to ensure optimal delivery of our portfolio
  • Enable overview of critical portfolio interdependencies
  • Coach other members of the team, develop new skills and provide ongoing, constructive feedback on performance and progress toward goals and expectationsWho You Are
    • Passion for the diagnostics business, life sciences and our patient centric mission
    • Education: Advanced degree in life sciences, medicine, engineering or business is preferred, ideally PhD, MD, or MBA
    • 5+ years of work experience in management consulting, investment banking, or business strategic development preferred
    • Experience in influencing and presenting complex strategic topics to senior management stakeholders
    • Demonstrated experience in analytical, planning and organizational skills
    • Demonstrated aptitude for collaborating in cross-functional teams
    • Understanding of molecular diagnostics and sequencing landscape, business strategy and major marketsJob Skills and Expectations
      • Strategy: Skilled at distilling complex/abstract problems into succinct strategic frameworks and tactical plans
      • Analytics: Strong analytical skills, quantitative modeling and complex problem-solving
      • Influence: Ability to influence senior management through active listening, communication and facilitation
      • Communication: Clearly articulate critical analytical findings to senior leadership and drug development teams
      • Facilitate: Facilitate discussions with business leaders, cross-functional teams and key stakeholders to work together to develop insights and align on strategic decisionsThe expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Santa Clara, CA is $135,000-215,600. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position is eligible to earn incentive compensation that is calculated and paid in accordance with the applicable Incentive Compensation Plan for the role.
