Registered Nurse – Emergency Room - Travel - (ER RN) StartDate:
ASAP Available Shifts: 12 D/E/N Pay Rate: $1931.00 - $2050.00 This
department provides triage, treatment and support for trauma and
emergency patients of all ages in an acute care setting. If the
department is designated as a trauma site, the hours and expenses
related to triage and treatment of trauma patients is included.
However, the hours and expenses related to the administration and
support of the Trauma program and it's services (i.e. Trauma
registry, trauma coordinators) should not be included here. Job
Summary LINE OF AUTHORITY: RN II, Emergency Department - Director
of Emergency Department Licenses and Certifications Professionalism
and Self-Development Education and Qualifications EDUCATION AND
EXPERIENCE: At least one year Registered Nurse experience within
the last 24 months and acute critical experience within the last 12
months or EMT and ED Tech with a minimum of 2 years experience & in
good standing. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Graduate from an
accredited school of nursing. LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS: Current
license as a Registered Nurse by the State of California. LICENSES
OR CERTIFICATIONS: Evidence of current BLS, ACLS and PALS
certification. LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS: MICN desired to be
completed within one year of hire. LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS:
MICN, NRP, TNCC, and CEN encouraged and recommended.
QUALIFICATIONS: Basic computer skills. Physical Requirements/Work

requires frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, reaching
above shoulders, sitting, walking inclines and declines, standing,
talking, hearing, and performing repetitive hand motions. Vision
requirements include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
The employee will occasionally pull, lift, transfer, or push a
patient side to side, to a sitting position, to a standing
position, or laterally. The employee must demonstrate a pull lift
of 50 pounds from the floor. POTENTIAL EXPOSURE TO BLOOD & BODY
FLUIDS: Category 1 for potential exposure to bloodbody fluids.
(Requires the performance of procedures or other tasks in the work
routine that involve an inherent potential for mucous membranes or
skin contact with blood, body fluids or tissues, or a potential for
spills or splashes of them. Protective measures should be used
while engaged in Category 1 tasks with exposure potential.) Job
Roles RN II, Emergency Department (AHCL) AGES SERVED (b): Child,
Adolescent, Adult Geriatric. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills
necessary to provide care service appropriate to the age of the
patients/individuals served. Demonstrates and possesses the ability
to assess data reflective of the patients/ individuals status and
interpret relative to his age-specific needs, and to provide the
care/service needed. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of
growth and development over the life span and the critical skills
necessary to provide age appropriate care to the patients served in
the Intensive Care setting. Able to interpret data about the
patients status in order to identify each patients age specific
needs and provide care needed by the patient group. Demonstrates
the ability to handle emergency situations in a prompt, precise and
professional manner. Maintains accurate and continued nursing
documentation including patient histories, conditions, treatments,
responses and assessment of changes. Maintains and meets
expectations on time for all competencies, license, certifications
and education requirements as outlined by local administration,
Adventist Health (AH), The Joint Commission (TJC), Centers for
Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and all other regulatory
agencies. Maintains current knowledge of medications and their
correct administration based on age of the patient and his or her
clinical condition. Meets charge nurse expectations as assigned.
Meets professional behavior expectations and guest services
expectations. Monitors hemodynamic status of patient and correctly
interpret the results. Nursing documentation must reflect
comprehensive understanding of the nursing process. Performs
head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments per
policy. This includes pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric
patient populations. Prepares, administers, monitors and
discontinues IV fluids. Provides a professional environment and
professional appearance while on hospital grounds. Willingly
performs other duties and innovations as assigned. Required
