Job Description:
Minimum Qualifications Knowledge of: Dental school generalist
teaching model, integrated interprofessional care, and
competency-based education and assessment methodology. Accepted
non-surgical and surgical protocols for the periodontal management
of patients. Computer software to include World, Excel, AxiUm and
PowerPoint. Experience: Minimum two years teaching experience in an
accredited dental school setting. Minimum of five years’ practice
experience. Education DDS / DMD or equivalent. Certificate of
Proficiency in Periodontics from a recognized U.S. post-doctoral
program. Valid CPR certificate. Working Conditions: Occupational
exposure to bloodborne pathogens may be reasonably anticipated.
Personal protective equipment is expected to be utilized. Position
requires coordination of a variety of duties in occasionally
stressful non-clinical and clinical situations. Requires occasional
attendance at weekend/evening events and meetings. Preferred
Qualifications Ability to: Promote the dental school vision,
mission and core values. Communicate effectively with faculty,
staff, residents, and students in a variety of ways to include
direct conversation, email, text, meetings, etc. Provide
patient-centered care in a humanistic environment. Reflect,
self-assess, and think critically. Maintain confidentiality of
information. Demonstrate professional judgment. Effectively manage
projects and deadlines. Work independently and efficiently. Other:
Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse
backgrounds and cultures. Demonstrated experience in advancing
social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and
knowledge in their work.
