For more information, visit www.ethicon.com.We are seeking hands-on candidates who will be deep in code and are technically strong in developing, optimizing, and maintaining MATLAB, Python and C++ code bases. Additionally, we are seeking candidates with demonstrated experience in robotic simulation development and has fundamental knowledge in robotics and controls.In This Role You Will* Optimize and maintain robotics simulation codebases designed for surgical procedure optimization. * Unify and maintain cross-functional software libraries and software architecture to enable prototype software to leverage production code. * Support software development within DSA team to aid procedure optimization and other AI driven verticals. * Develop, optimize and maintenance robotics simulation codebases and architectures (algorithm) in MATLAB and Python. Increase computational efficacy, upgrade open-source libraries for enhanced performance.* Develop framework to leverage and automate existing analytics codebases to service cross-functional data-and-system analysis needs. * Collaborate with RC and Software teams to maintain and upgrade leveraged libraries and architectures. * Continuously evaluate the latest packages and frameworks. Create documentation and best practices to share with the software development community.Qualifications* A minimum of a Bachelor's degree (Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field) with 2 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree (Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or related field) with relevant internship/co-op/project experience required. * Strong MATLAB, Python programming skills and software engineering practice required * Proven modern C++ (14 and above) experience is preferred. * Strong experience in simulation in MATLAB required. * Strong mathematical background is a plus.* Experience in open-source robotics simulators like VREP, Gazebo, Isaac etc. is a plus.* Fundamental knowledge in controls of robotics manipulator is a plus. * Proven experience partitioning, decomposing, and solving complex engineering problems in cross-domain contexts.* Strong communication and teamwork, skills is required.* Position will be located in Santa Clara, CA.
