Job DescriptionDatabases and event logs are complementary infrastructure in modern software architecture. You will be a core member of the engineering team, enhancing and optimizing Pulsar to work with Cassandra in DataStaxs Astra cloud service. You will be highly involved in the design, implementation, and operation of solutions to solve problems for the worlds leading enterprises as we scale up and deliver an amazing developer experience.What You Will Do* Author, debug, and improve code in the core of Apache Pulsar* Contribute to open-source and proprietary projects that interface with Pulsar* Aid production support teams debugging and root causing user-facing issues* Work in a fast-moving environment to rapidly prototype, iterate and evolve solutions for real-world developer need* Perform regular code reviews among peersYour Experience Should Include* Systems level Java proficiency.* Must have expert level backend expereince* Must have experience working on Apache Pulsar or Apache Kafka.* Experience with multi-threaded programming and concurrency primitives.* Experience with distributed data stores (NoSQL systems) to achieve massive scalability and availability of the data made available by your data pipelines.* Familiarity with bug tracking tools, version control tools, build automation tools and test automation tools.* Experience in SDLC having contributed at each step: Plan, Track, Code, Build, Test, Deploy and Monitor.* Experience with Kubernetes is a plus.* Experience with Apache Cassandra is a plus.If this motivates you, we'd love to hear from you!Additional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
