We are seeking someone to join us and help discover solutions to sophisticated and complex problems. This Sr. Embedded Software Engineering role is essential to our future product development. Come design, debug, test and implement software for Tektronix Test and Measurement Instruments.Specific Responsibilities Include

  • Technology: Requires technical depth and/or breadth of expertise in developing data acquisition, analysis and display solutions to tackle challenges for customers who develop groundbreaking technology.
  • Expertise: Interprets internal/external business challenges and recommends standard methodologies to improve products, processes, or services
  • Leadership: Able to accurately size and schedule complex projects while anticipating engineering and multi-functional risks and supports organization's strategies and initiatives by promoting them with in the team.
  • Problem Solving: Leads others to find solutions to complex problems; uses sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgment and identify innovative solutions.
  • Partnership: Comfortable working within multi-disciplined teams, is known as an effective leader, participant, and negotiator.Qualifications
    • BS / MS / Ph.D in EE, CE, or CS preferred
    • 5+ years of experience working with advanced C/C++, C# and Python
    • Strong OOD experience including design patterns.
    • Strong knowledge of embedded systems development and memory/processor constraints for software scalability
    • Proficiency in multithreading, memory management, and real time operating system concepts.
    • Knowledge of programming for both Linux and Windows run-time environments.
    • Experience developing software using Agile methodologies required.
    • Design and Development experience using ARM System-On-Chip required.In addition, demonstrating some of the following skills distinguishes a candidate from all others:
      • Proven experience writing device drivers, particularly for Linux target environment.
      • Experience with Software Packaging for Ubuntu
      • Familiarity with PIC programming preferred.
      • Familiarity with FPGA logical design preferred.
      • Exceptional experience with Linux Networking, Shell scripting (Bash, PowerShell) preferred
      • Familiarity with Full Stack Development using Web frameworks preferred.
      • Familiarity with Tektronix oscilloscopes and applications.
      • Intimate familiarity with one or more serial data link standards (PCIe, USB, etc).
      • Strong ability to read/use hardware data sheets and schematics.Due to US Department of Commerce export control regulations governing technical data of Tektronix products, Tektronix needs to know the citizenship of all its employees.
