We are looking for software engineers to join our Behavior Planning team to improve the way we drive. As part of this team you will build our behavioral and motion planning algorithms for various design domains, which spans challenges from achieving a comfortable driving experience, occlusion handling, driver-in-the-loop situations, all the way to the long tail of traffic rules that need to be handled autonomously. You will have the opportunity to deploy your algorithms and truly have the first-hand experience of your work driving the cars of the future. What you will be doing: Develop motion and behavioral planning methods for different scenarios like highways and urban roads Integrate the algorithms into our software stack and mature them to production quality Design the planning software architecture for a particular feature or component Test and validate the functionalities in various scenarios in the simulation environment as well as on the road Solve problems based on product driven requirements Design an autonomous system with safety concept that works in multiple different settings, e.g. perception sensors, map availability, environmental conditions Collaborate with a diverse group of engineers from other domains including perception, mapping, vehicle control and user experience What we need to see: BS or higher in an engineering technical field (Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, Physics, etc.) or equivalent experience 3+ years of experience in software development Excellent knowledge of C/C++ and a scripting language such as Python Comfortable developing in Linux or another Unix based system Ability to think analytically and solve technical problems in a compute constrained system Ability to multitask and prioritize Excellent communication skills Quick learner and hands on Ways to stand out from the crowd: PhD in a relevant field or related research experience is helpful Previous experience working on autonomous vehicles and production codes Expert level domain knowledge of planning algorithms, or having control background Experience working with a full stack Knowledge of CUDA is a plus With highly competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package, NVIDIA is widely considered to be one of the technology industry's most desirable employers. The Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act requires that NVIDIA provide the compensation range and benefits offered for this position if performed in Colorado. The base salary range for this position in Colorado is $126,000.00 - 173,250.00 USD. NVIDIA also offers a comprehensive benefits package. We provide health care coverage, dental and vision, 401(K), including company matching and after tax contributions, Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), company paid holidays, paid sick leave, vacation leave, professional time off, life and disability protection. Employees in eligible sales and positions may also be eligible for commission. Base pay is based on market location and may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job-related reasons.
