Using cutting-edge public and private cloud technologies, it extends the next-generation security protection to all cloud services and to its customers regardless of whether they are on-premise, on remote networks or mobile users. As a member of the Palo Alto networks Cloud Infrastructure and Platform Engineering (CIPE) team, the Senior Principal Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining tools that proactively drive the stability of Prisma Access connectivity and global network infrastructure. This role will benefit from close collaboration with other engineering teams. The Network Team within CIPE is a group that is responsible for designing, building and operating data center networks, backbone networks and cloud networks for PAN at a global scale. We expect office-based employees to be in the office four days per week, with one day working from where they choose. We believe being together facilitates casual conversations and those magic moments where we can work on issues and ideas informally. These moments build capability and deepen trusted relationships and allow our people to feel safe in taking risks and being disruptive. Like so many companies, we are working through the details and things could change ---. but in general if a role is deemed office-based we want our teams to be together four days per week.

Your Impact

  • Proposing new designs and architectures in theareaof network transport layer and host networking stacks, including server stacks and mobile stacks
  • Design and continue to optimize network solutions based on business requirements, network performance and cost
  • Deploy network and find out where the efficiency can be improved with automation during the deployment
  • Lead complex troubleshooting and resolve critical or escalated technical issues.
  • Participate in periodic on-call rotation Your Experience
    • A Bachelor's degree or higher, computer-related majors, and 7+ years experience in large datacenter network operations or equivalent military experience required
    • 5+ years of experience in setting up cloud infrastructure using OpenStack
    • Experience in maintaining and operating large scale private clouds
    • Experience practicing DevOps methodology and Infrastructure as Code

For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $166,600/yr to $269,500/yr.
