If you are excited about building the next generation GPU shader core, our team is on the lookout for you! You will be part of a fast-paced team working on the GPU shader design, a team of engineers of varied disciplines who are responsible for micro-architecting, designing, and delivering GPU shader IP for various products. Since we are the heart of GPU engine, we strive to challenge ourselves in beating area, power, and performance targets. No idea is too small; we welcome every initiative that makes our product better. You will be working on the RTL design of sub-block inside Shader Subsystem. Shader Subsystem plays a key role in running applications program, feeding, and consuming the data to/from GPU shader resources and computing mathematical operations. You will own all aspect of sub-block design - micro-architecture specification, RTL design, Timing and Power convergence. You will work closely with software, architect, and physical design team membersto define and develop PPA (power, performance, and area) efficient Shader subsystem. You will have the opportunity to define ISA changes, work with other sub-block team members inside andoutside shader core, learn about custom storage structures and own overall implementation of sub-block you own.THE PERSON: You are an "out of the box" thinker, motivated to absorb dynamic changes and thirsty to keepinnovating. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Work with architect/lead to define and deliver the efficient hardware for next generation architecture of GPU shader Interface with other GPU shader blocks to define and implement data flow logic in GPU shader pipeline Work with DV folks to define, analyze and debug various functional, performance and power features Work with Physical Design folks to resolve timing violations and determine best floorplan layout.PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Industry experience in GPU shader pipeline or CPU core pipeline and ISA (instructionset architecture) Industry experience in hardware design and overall ASIC design flow Industry experience in analyzing power, frequency, and area trade-offs Industry experience using various EDA tools for functional, performance and power validation on pre-silicon, emulation, and post-silicon environmentACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Bachelors or master's in electrical/electronic engineering.LOCATION: Preferred locations is Santa Clara; willing to consider individuals who would be open to working from our Orlando or Boxborough offices#LI-PH1Requisition Number: 89785 Country: United States State: California City: Santa Clara Job Function: Design AMD does not accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies or fee based recruitment services.
