Reporting to the Senior Director, Global Security protects the
organization's employees, properties and all items of value from
any preventable loss, harm or danger. Provide support to risk
management functional groups as required. Develops security
standards, policies and procedures, in partnership with other risk
management functional groups that comply with industry best
practices as well as government guidelines and regulations.
Monitors global events that may impact business operations and
impact the safety of company personnel or assets. Respond to
contingency events including bomb threats, sabotage and severe
weather conditions through onsite security services or with the
assistance of government agencies.
Responsibilities may include developing and implementing
security awareness programs, extra protection for key employees,
travel security assistance, as well as security risk assessment and
planning in the area of crisis management and business
Lead security for events, visiting VIPs, and other activities,
which may include partnering with other Global Security resources
and overseeing contract/consulting security services through a
comprehensive advance survey and threat assessment.
Understand the risks to the organization and Applied Materials
team, including business travel and domestic and foreign
operations; to select and implement appropriate controls.
Participate in event planning to ensure access control, asset
protection, confidentiality, and other security matters are
adequately addressed through a written plan accepted by the

Travel, both internationally and domestically, up to 40% of the
time with Applied leaders or event planners and may be called upon
24 hours a day to support the operations.
Provide strategic analysis and planning for management on
emergency situations, including crisis planning/response, hazard
mitigation and business continuity.
Provide accurate and timely consultation and advice to
management regarding security.
Identify and engage cost effective external resources to provide
on-demand security assistance. This includes law enforcement
personnel, consultants, private investigators, etc.
Administer contract security services as needed.
Degree in a related field is preferred.
Relevant experience will be evaluated.
