Senior Software Manager, Program Management

We are looking for a Senior Software Manager, Program Management.

We are hiring for the position of Senior Manager of Program Management in our Tegra System Software Team, to help us manage and drive automotive safety based projects and programs.

We seek managers who thrive in a dynamic environment and has excellent program management, leadership and communication skills. You will lead the team of experienced TPMs that support various software development teams and closely collaborate with a number of skilled engineers and managers crafting highly optimized and safe real-time system software.

The ability to work with diverse team is required. Strong interpersonal skills and a real passion for working as a team are critical.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead strong TPM team and own delivery on all programs from concepts to production.

  • Help to define and improve the best program management practices across wider software organization.

  • Effectively work with leaders in product, engineering, and customer facing teams to create alignment on strategies, roadmaps, and trade-offs, simplify execution, and improve quality and efficiency.

  • Collaborate with peer engineering teams, and product management teams to ensure that product requirements, goals and objectives are met or exceeded.

  • Create and lead effective communication cadences across development teams, stakeholders and with the executive team.

  • Collaborate with the technical leadership to understand and document project/program requirements, create and manage schedules, allocate proper resources, identify and manage program risks, and proactively communicate about project/program progress/status.

  • Track key milestones, progress, dependencies, and issues closely while communicating effectively to leadership and key stakeholders.

  • Lead project or program reviews throughout the organization.

  • Provide program management and leadership guidance to the team and ensure that the best practices are followed.

  • Review and identify improvement opportunities in established processes, infrastructure, and practices to ensure the teams are executing in the most efficient and transparent manner.

  • Grow the Technical Program Management team and guide the professional and technical development of the team members.

What we need to see:

  • Bachelors or higher degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience) with 10+ years of overall experience.

  • 6+ years of proven industry experience in successfully leading strong technical software teams or program management teams, and delivering complex software projects.

  • Proven track record in both, technical leadership and program management.

  • Outstanding leadership, program management, interpersonal and analytical skills with proven track record of leading technical teams and projects in highly dynamic matrix organization.

  • Ability to successfully manage big and complex technical projects.

  • Superior communication skills with ability to tailor relevant information for the right audience.

  • Effective presentation skills and ability to articulate a value proposition to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Detailed knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices.

  • Familiarity with ASPICE & automotive safety (ISO 26262).

  • Consistent record of delivering large strategic initiatives across teams.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • PMO management experience.

  • Deep understanding of software engineering principles.

  • Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp new technical concepts.

  • Experience with ISO 26262 and IEC 61508 or equivalent quality/safety processes.

  • Background with AUTOSAR, Cert C/C++, or MISRA.

  • Hands on experience with Agile tools and processes.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
