Edelman Financial Engines is looking for a talented and ambitious Chief of Staff to partner with the Executive VP, Chief Product and Technology Officer, to manage the operations of these business units. The Chief of Staff will be crucial in identifying and prioritizing the areas of impact and leverage across the companys Product & Technology businesses.

The ideal candidate will have strong instincts and experience around business strategy, operations, culture, and building high-performing organizations. The position requires an individual who is confident operating and problem solving independently while also demonstrating strong collaboration, high EQ and effective listening skills. The role provides broad exposure to the companys strategy, operations and leaders and will be a transformational, career-defining choice for you (and for us!) as Edelman Financial Engines grows.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Partner with the Chief Product and Technology Officer, to plan and direct all operational and strategic activities for the P&T business Work with P&T leaders and teams to support execution against priorities ensuring clear accountability and cross-functional support. Develop structure and process for improved internal communication and reporting within the P&T team as well as across the company Develop and manage a system to monitor status and reporting of key priorities. Organize and prioritize critical issues and required information for the Chief Product and Technology Officer to facilitate effective decision making; daily debriefing on critical items Act as an effective gatekeeper; assess inquiries, determine appropriate course of action and delegate responsibilities accordingly Manage the P&T budget and partner with Finance to ensure the organization is on track Direct and manage all P&T-focused meetings and events to hit desired objectives (e.g., leadership team meetings, All Hands, offsites, etc.) Prepare and manage internal presentations, and communications for the CPTO and critical initiatives of the team. Attend meetings on the CPTOs behalf, gather relevant information for decision-making, understand the context for discussion, and report back. Develop an opinion of what should come next, recommend a course of action, and assist in implementing next steps. Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with the P&T leadership team and internal stakeholders at all levels Execute special projects or initiatives on behalf of the CPTO or other P&T leaders. Work closely with the Executive Administrative team for coordination of P&T meetings, travel and other logistics Identify ways to develop leadership within the group, aligned with organizational goals Monitor the organization moral and culture. Keep a pulse on areas for improvement and recommend strategy Ensure a strong and candid team dynamic by creating an optimum environment for productive dialogue Be an honest broker and truth teller in consideration of the needs of the entire organization
QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of successful experience in project management roles involving direct executive communication Demonstrated command of process, management and finance in support of strategic and innovation projects Strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including experience communicating with senior executives. Works well under pressure in a fast-paced environment and exercise sound judgment and discretion Motivated self-starter; identifying opportunities for improvement and assuming responsibility Team-oriented individual with the ability to work well with diverse groups Strong MS Office with excellent PowerPoint and Excel skills Bachelors Degree in Business, Management or related field
