You are a focused, motivated and detail-oriented up-and-coming Finance Sr. Manager or Director who has 10+ years of experience working for a software (SaaS) or subscription-based business. You enjoy being a strategic advisor to executive leaders on financial matters which helps them meet their business objectives, while at the same time delivering an accurate forecast for an organization comprising of $375M in annual spend and 3,000+ headcount. You are the first one to raise your hand when given the opportunity to solve complex business problems, and then follow that up with a recommended best path forward along with the analysis to back up that recommendation. You understand the importance of teamwork and the value of building collaborative relationships throughout the business and can adapt your communication style, so that it resonates with audiences at multiple levels throughout the organization. Finally, you have a positive attitude, love learning and believe work and fun do not have to be mutually exclusive in the workplace.

Position summary:

We are seeking a Finance Director to join our team and support the Global Engineering and Security organizations. You have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, embrace change, dive deep into details, partner with the business, lead a team and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization are key capabilities needed to succeed in this role. It's also important that you are a proactive self-starter which takes responsibility to develop, own and drive key processes, reporting, improvements and projects on behalf of supporting the business.

Primary Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Be a trusted business partner to executive leadership within the Engineering and Security organizations - functioning as the key influencer on all significant financial decisions and policies
  • Lead all operational and financial support efforts for Engineering and Security, including annual planning, forecasting, scenario modeling and business case support
  • Own consolidations for all of Engineering and Security, which comprises of $375M+ in operating spend and 3,000+ headcount
  • Ensure Engineering and Security organization meets their quarterly targets and annual plan
  • Own monthly and quarterly Engineering and Security forecasting process ensuring alignment across teams:
  • Develop effective forecasting process - including alignment with customers, system upload, output and reporting
  • Explain variances to forecast and target, and business trends
  • Prepare presentation for monthly and quarterly business reviews with leadership and business
  • Prepare and consolidate Engineering and Security templates for Corporate FP&A
  • Partner with Accounting, Procurement, Tax and Corporate Finance regularly to deliver the most accurate results
  • Drive monthly forecast accuracy and accountability for results

  • Create operational reporting and analytics; including developing KPIs to drive productivity and financial results for the organization
  • Lead and manage capital planning for Engineering projects (including large scale projects)
  • Manage and mentor a team of 8 analysts and support resources, driving best practices in Finance business partnering
  • Build ad-hoc and routine reports to provide insights into business drivers, financial performance and risks which will enable the business to make informed investment prioritization decisions
  • Work with financial systems teams to streamline processes, hierarchies, allocations, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance (MBA or CPA strongly preferred)
  • 10+ years of finance leadership experience in a large, public company
  • Extensive experience with various enterprise systems such as SAP, Hyperion Essbase, Ariba, Workday and managing and analyzing large amounts of complex data
  • Established leader who inspires growth and development, and attracts and retains the highest quality finance professionals
  • Proven track record of advanced analytical skills, attention to detail, dealing with ambiguity and ability to work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Highly analytical and detail oriented with the ability to dig into details while understanding the big picture
  • Advanced financial modeling skills with previous exposure to staffing and investment decisions
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage financial reporting for business forecasting, variance analysis and problem solving
  • Successful track record of prioritizing tasks, sound decision making and delivering results
  • Demonstrable success in executive-level finance business partnership
  • Advanced knowledge and practical skills in best practices regarding corporate administrative functions
  • Strong executive-level verbal and written communication and presentation skills - including ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with executive leadership
  • Ability to build consensus across a team of members from multiple organizations towards action which results in measurable benefit to the company
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Experience in leading the execution of large projects, including stakeholders and team members across multiple organizations
  • Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and ability to apply it in various circumstances
  • Complete understanding of accrual accounting
  • Month end expense review
  • Determine need for accrual, adjusting or reclassification entries
  • Expense recognition timing

  • Self-motivated with the ability to multitask; comfortable and flexible working in a fast-paced environment
  • Workforce planning, cloud spend forecasting and ROI modeling experience a plus
  • Engineering and Technology industry experience is a plus

Basic Qualifications:

  • Requires broad management and leadership knowledge to lead multiple job areas.
  • Has mastery level knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline with broad understanding of other areas within the job function.
