The NVIDIA Creative team is looking for a Lead Environment Artist to join our our team, for the concepting, design and production of beautiful stills and animations using a variety of tools, and being part of the development and testing of new and exciting GPU based tools.Our team strives to offer the highest output quality possible, while optimizing workflows and pipelines to meet fast paced turnarounds. Be a part of a rewarding culture and collaborate with some of the smartest individuals in the industry!What you'll be doing:Bring life through your design and implementation of high quality, believable 3D environments, and assetsModel and texture realistic, modular, hard-surface, and organic set pieces and props for a diverse set of environments using cutting-edge art toolsCreate realistic materials and textures using physically-based shaders for use on architecture, terrain, or any other required assetBe able to take an art task from start to finish in its completion without any external support if needed. From modeling to final real-time engine implementationWork closely with the art director and other artists ensure that environments and assets match the quality bar and vision for the projectEnsure that art assets are performant, and fit within their memory budgetsBe able to work from photo reference, style sheets during the art creation processCreate complete models and assemble scenes for both architectural and organic environmentsTroubleshoot projects and maintain them to stay in frame rate, memory, and design specAdditional responsibilities may be assigned as neededLead and mentor other artists within the team as neededCreating high poly sculpts and real-time assets based on original concepts or referencesHelp maintain as well help grow the art production pipelineWhat we need to see:5+ years' experience as a senior or lead artistMaster's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Equivalent Proven ExperienceProven experience in working in games or movie industry on multiple AAA titlesDeep knowledge of physically based rendering (PBR)Proficiency in relevant software packages such as 3ds Max, Substance Painter, Zbrush, Unreal 4 etc.Experience with procedural content creation packages a plus (Substance Designer, World Machine etc. )Very creative and an excellent eye for detailOrganizational, communication, and interpersonal skillsWays to stand out from the crowd:Experience working within an engine and implementing 3D work into real-time engines.NVIDIA is widely considered to be one of the technology world's most desirable employers.
