Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading development of novel inkjet inks, focused on the 3D printing applications. Develop processes to transfer from lab to production scale. Basic maintenance of lab equipment along with development of standard testing/evaluation methods and procedures. Candidate will work in a multifunctional team to support product development, applications and manufacturing. Position reports to Director of Print Formulations.

  • Responsibilities:
  • Understand the different printhead technologies used in various Digital Inkjet applications and be able to design and formulate compatible Digital inks for 3D applications
  • Spearhead new technology platform development for next generation digital inks
  • Operate the lab application and ink equipment and inkjet test platforms
  • Upkeep and maintain lab equipment, develop QC protocol, etc.
  • Organize and analyze lab data to draw conclusions on path forward
  • Prepare concise data books, presentations for internal and external use based on experiment results
  • Support the manufacturing and applications team with customer issue identification.
  • Collaborate with technical teams from ideation, formulation, application, scale-up, etc.
  • Mentor less experienced R&D Chemists, technicians, and Co-Op students

  • Skills:
  • Demonstrate broad and comprehensive understanding of inkjet formulation and inkjet printing.
  • Direct the resolution of highly complex or unusual technical problems applying advanced analytical thought and judgment
  • Experience in interfacial science, colloid/dispersed systems or particle science, polymer synthesis and rheology a plus
  • Knowledge of the various printhead technology and printers required
  • Extensive experience performing various testing procedures such as chemical, physical property analysis, specimen material evaluation, and inkjet printing test
  • Experience utilizing needed analytical and application equipment, tools, software, etc
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Motivated self-starter with solid organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and with cross-functional teams
