About the Role:

As a key member of the Technical Product Owner organization within the CTO group, the Architecture Product Owner will drive the maturity and transformation of SVB's Enterprise Architecture capabilities. The TPO will also ensure delivery of architecture framework, governance framework, innovation labs, its capabilities, features, and functionality based on the roadmap, company, and technology group priorities. This role will be interacting closely with other Cloud Center for Enablement (C4E/Center of Excellence) groups including DevSecOps C4E, Cloud C4E, API C4E, Engineering teams, SVB's Product Management team, as well as when needed other business users and key stakeholders. This role will also be responsible for synthesizing functional and technical requirements and prioritizing user stories, approving features, framework, and process design in alignment with agreed upon acceptance criteria, and providing feedback to the team with a strong decision-making mindset.

The role requires solid leadership skills and your work will help drive technology transformation and more specifically SVB's Architecture journey, related frameworks, processes, and architecture products delivery from inception until the solution enters production. A solid engineering and technical leadership background is required to effectively communicate and work with stakeholders and the technical team on a day-to-day basis. The role requires a good understanding of the enterprise architecture frameworks, working models, governance, and latest technology trends.

Responsibilities:

  • Help define, develop, maintain and execute the Enterprise Architect strategy, roadmap, and goals to effectively enable SVB's Technology Transformation
  • Oversee the overall adoption of enterprise architecture engagements, framework, and processes and ensure it aligns with business strategies, vision, and roadmap
  • Manage product backlog initiatives, epics, user stories, and cross-product dependencies
  • Present the roadmap, its progress, and reporting to the bank's leadership and stakeholders. Provides transparency on results and planning through accurate reporting
  • Serve as the primary interface of the technology leaders and stakeholders with the agile delivery teams
  • Take ownership for ensuring a prioritized backlog is maintained so each program increment and sprint can be planned clearly and efficiently
  • Lead customer demos such as design walk-throughs or solution candidate test-drives
  • Provide internal and external stakeholders with the appropriate guidance and direction with regards to roadmap priority
  • Work with Tech Writers and OCM team to assist with communication, training, and end-user documentation
  • Support ongoing improvement initiatives and opportunities by applying a deep understanding of applications, and platform architectures
  • Navigate through ambiguity, managing and coordinating multiple project assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Ensure stakeholders are kept updated on team goals and product roadmap
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across multiple departments.
  • Collaborate with external and internal stakeholders to serve as a champion for future capabilities needed at SVB.
  • Champion, in collaboration w/ OCM posting on internal social media sites covering topics such as new product/platform features, tips, and soliciting input on new capabilities or enhancements
  • Perform data-driven research and information collection to support prioritization of user stories and initiatives
  • Help with reporting and dashboard and provide visibility to stakeholders

Skills Required:

  • Experience working with enterprise architects, solution architects, governance, product labs, management of proof of concepts, and understanding of architecture frameworks for a large financial institution or a product-centric business preferred
  • Experience working with product testing with an innovation mindset and environment, and based on business value drivers and outcomes
  • Proven ability to successfully manage product backlog in a fast-paced, product-centric environment 8 years of relevant experience preferred
  • Ability to plan strategy while maintaining the current delivery commitments and priorities
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally, and work well in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to work directly with clients in user forum, round table, or customer outreach sessions
  • Demonstrated understanding of Agile/Scrum/Kanban
  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with Scrum and SDLC processes a plus
  • Create customer demos such as design walk-throughs or solution candidate test-drives
  • Support ongoing process improvement initiatives by having a deep understanding of application and platform architectures to rationalize use cases
  • Navigate through ambiguity, managing and coordinating multiple project assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Ensure stakeholders are kept updated on team goals and product roadmap
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within and between departments.
  • Collaborate with external and internal stakeholders to serve as an internal champion for future automation capabilities needed in our organization.
  • Partner with product vendor to support upgrades, identify new features needed for the platform and build internal product roadmap aligned with business needs.
  • Effective communication skills to present and collaborate with executives and senior leadership

Education

  • Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Formal Product Owner training, such as CSPO, nice-to-have
  • Ability to influence people at all levels across a broad variety of job functions
  • Excellent organizational skills to juggle many tasks without losing sight of what's most important
  • Dashboarding skills and ability to present graphical analysis and intuitive reports on usage and adoption
