The Opportunity

Functional Safety Engineer (Business Process/Systems)

Responsibilities:

As a Functional Safety Engineer, you will work under Quality Systems group, and your main responsibility will be to develop and integrate Functional Safety process within Corporate Quality systems. Working with Corporate Functional Safety team to establish comprehensive and world class corporate wide FuSa process and help in compliance certification, leading the safety analysis to develop business process, safety management and requirements for the program while managing and overseeing the functional safety technical work across engineering, IPs, tools, marketing and business unit teams

Actively participating in product development, quality, and reliability conversations to ensure that functional safety is a key consideration during the entire product development cycle. In addition, you will be responsible for all the safety documentation/work products being completed and are aligned to the overall program timeline and expectations.

Specific Job Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry with 3+ years in Automotive semiconductor specific
  • 3 + years of experience in developing and managing QMS system based on ISO 9001-2015 and IATF-16949 STDs.
  • 3 + years of relevant experience or exposure in Product Life Cycle (PLC) or NPI processes specific to Functional Safety deliverables
  • Responsible for responding to automotive customer surveys, quality related customer specification reviews. Support QA Role for SW Gate Review (ASPICE) for automotive projects.
  • Support Agile PLM NPI project coordination for automotive products.
  • Training or demonstrated success in applying quality problem solving methods and tools such as Fishbone, 8D, 5 Why and FMEA
  • Hands on experience and led teams for Safety analysis, include DFMEA and FMEDA and or DFA and FTA tools and techniques
  • Expertise in statistical analysis, FIT rates or BFR calculation using tools, such as IEC / TR 62380 or SN 29500
  • Interface with Tier1 and Tier0 customers to manage safety related SW & HW requests
  • Excellent oral/written communication and presentation skills

Preferred Education and Experience Requirements:

  • BS in an engineering discipline such as computer science, electrical or mechanical engineering, advanced degree preferred
  • Formal certification or training for ISO 26262 Process based on V-Model
  • 2+ experience related experience in functional safety - ISO 26262
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of functional safety development processes needed to meet the requirements of the ISO 26262 standard or similar ones
  • Led cross-functional engineering and different business unit teams to achieve their Functional Safety related deliverables
  • Experience working in product lifecycle environment and using related tools
  • Must have Involved in one or two IC based (FuSa) work product throughout the lifecycle of the project
  • Expertise in at least one of the commonly used functional safety tools, i.e. Polarian, Jama, Door, Medini or similar ones
