Job Description

Intel's Validation Engineering Group iVEMVSHW designs and develops Intel's next generation validation platforms catering to all segments from server to client. The Manufacturing Validation System HW MVSHW team within iVE focuses on developing electrical specifications, working with other Intel Business Units, conducting electrical analysis and releasing needed platform design guidelines for next generation Intel validation platforms. In this position you will be responsible for leading electrical analysis focusing primarily on Signal and Power Integrity for Intel's validation platforms and systems.

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Develop and lead a technical SIPI project team
  • Form multi-geo strategy for project execution
  • Performs electrical analysis and validation to generate Intel next-gen design guidelines to guide system level signal integrity solutions including silicon package socket and boards
  • Performs signal integrity analysis for a package silicondie and platform level and gives out recommendations that help to meet the required specifications
  • Performs Signal Integrity simulations and timing analysis and correlating simulations with system measurements
  • Provides Signal Integrity simulation models and collaterals for Intel customers
  • Interacts with cross-function teams like silicon circuit design package design board design board fabricators etc. for ensuring the proper implementation of highspeed interfaces
  • Defines system board architectures review the PCB layout and sign off the designs

A candidate must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidate must have a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering and 4+ years of experience in/with: - OR - a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering and 3+ years of experience in/with:

  • Transmission line theory and electromagnetic field concepts
  • Design and analysis of highspeed digital interconnects such as PCIe DDR
  • Signal integrity simulation tools such as HSpice
  • Silicon devices modeling methods such as IBIS or VerilogA
  • 2D and 3D field solver tools such as XFX iMap HFSS CST
  • PCB layout review and associated tools such as Allegro
  • Lab equipment such as oscilloscopes TDRs or VNAs
  • PDN
  • Fine pitch probing techniques
  • Scripting languages such as Matlab Perl or Python
