NVIDIA is searching for a world-class scientist to join our applied research and engineering team. We are building next-generation solvers to accelerate optimization with modern, highly-parallel hardware architectures. If you enjoy addressing real-world problems while crafting innovative novel operations research approaches, this team is for you. After building prototypes that demonstrate the promise of your research, you will work with product teams to transfer ideas into products deployed in the world's largest supercomputers and Fortune 500 companies. What you'll be doing: * Designing and implementing groundbreaking techniques in the field of combinatorial optimization and operations research. * Solving specific problems while having an opportunity to define your own research. * Publishing your original research and speaking at conferences and events. * Collaborating with other software engineers, internal and external researchers, and a diverse set of internal product teams. * Construct and curate datasets collections. What we need to see: * Ph.D. in Operations Research, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field (or equivalent experience). * 4+ years of discrete optimization research or work experience. * Excellent knowledge of theory and practice of operations research with a strong curiosity about connecting your work to applications. * Excellent programming skills in prototyping environments such as MATLAB or Python as well as C++ parallel programming. CUDA is a plus. * Knowledge of application areas such as last-mile delivery, supply chain management, transportation, robotics. * A track record of research excellence demonstrated in publications and other research artifacts such as software projects. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required along with the ability to work in a dynamic team. Experience with mentoring junior engineers and interns is a huge plus. Intelligent machines powered by AI computers that can learn, reason, and interact with people are no longer science fiction. The Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act requires that NVIDIA provide the compensation range and benefits offered for this position if performed in Colorado. The base salary range for this position in Colorado is $162,000.00 - 222,750.00 USD. NVIDIA also offers a comprehensive benefits package. We provide health care coverage, dental and vision, 401(K), including company matching and after tax contributions, Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), company paid holidays, paid sick leave, vacation leave, professional time off, life and disability protection. Employees in eligible sales and positions may also be eligible for commission. Base pay is based on market location and may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job-related reasons.
