SoundHound Inc. builds voice AI products that make it easier for people to engage with the world around them. We do this by creating custom voice assistants that make it possible for companies to extend their brand in new and meaningful ways. We are looking for an experienced Research Scientist to join our core speech team. We work on areas including automatic speech recognition (ASR), natural language processing (NLP), Machine Learning, speech synthesis (TTS), voice biometrics, pattern recognition, digital signal processing (DSP), and speech enhancement. Your research will be applied to production in order to bring ASR performance to the next level.

In this role, you will:

• Lead high impact speech R&D projects with the potential to reach two billion end users
• Research state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms for speech technologies
• Provide technical leadership to our machine learning engineers to prototype and productionize promising methods
• Work closely with the team director to define and propose R&D projects
  
  We would love to hear from you if:
  
  
  • You have research work or publications pertaining to applying deep learning to speech recognition
  • You have a Ph.D. in ASR or related fields
  • You bring at least three years of industry experience focused on ASR research
  • You have a deep knowledge of mathematics, machine learning, and speech recognition
  • You possess hands-on experience using Kaldi, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
  • You have experience writing production-level code in Python or C++
  • You enjoy mentoring and leading other teammates
  • You value building relationships with team members both in and out of work
    
    We'd be especially excited if you worked on end-to-end ASR, low-resource ASR, or acoustic model training. Also, please be sure to let us know if you are fluent in multiple spoken languages.
