Sodexo / Nourish is looking for a Purchasing Specialist -to join our Nourish Foods team at our brand new Commissary Kitchen in Santa Clara, CA. - -This position will support the activities of buyers and - staff engaged in purchasing and distributing raw materials, equipment, machinery and supplies for the Nourish Commissary.. You will support purchasing policies and procedures.. Typical work week is Monday through Friday, 6am - 4pm but could vary as needed. - -

The ideal candidate will:


  • Supervise and motivate Nourish - team/staff by providing training and counseling to promote 100% work efficiency daily.
  • Guarantee systems for the best price/value for products such as: High value fish, meat, poultry, specialties, dairy, fruit, produce and basic MRO supplies.
  • Monitor reports with variable year and seasonality prices input in order to create the most cost effective high-end menus together with operations
  • Monitor - supplier performance and business issues that may occur to ensure food safety compliance, HACCP regulations and FDA regulations
  • Manage day to day supplier communications
  • Monitor and control product inventory levels

    Position Summary
    Responsible to place orders using a purchase ordering system. Orders products and services based on established contracts. May assist corporate procurement to define contract terms. Coordinates delivery times and works to achieve the lowest costs of materials from suppliers with consideration to quality, reliability, and urgency of need.Key Duties- Purchases materials and supplies based on established contracts with manufacturers and other suppliers. - Coordinates Sodexo purchasing strategies to ensure that the Company is purchasing products/services at the most competitive prices and mark up structure, while accounting for the quality and service level required by the business line. - Ensures product availability and quality based on account operator needs. Manages inventory to reduce waste.- Assists with the resolution of product selection, distribution, pricing, cost control, receiving, and inventory control issues.
    Qualifications & Requirements
    Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma, GED or equivalentSodexo is an EEO/AA/Minority/Female/Disability/Veteran employer.
