today!Scope: The EHS Hazardous Waste Handlers is in charge of the
shipping and handling of hazardous wastes; and receiving chemical
shipments, handling and storage. Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains standards of quality effluent as prescribed by SJ/SC
WPCP. Actively operates a wastewater pretreatment system and batch
treatment system, using metal precipitation and water clarification
technologies. Controls pH, heavy metal concentration, and other
specified parameters as required by SJ/SC WPCP and SJ Environmental
Enforcement Division Waste Water Discharge Permit. Properly and
independently labels all chemicals, including wastes, as required
by DOT, OSHA and US EPA. Provides service to production areas in
the form of chemical additions, chemical bath changes, filter
changes, preventative maintenance, and housekeeping. Actively
Performs routine maintenance tasks as required to assure proper
functioning of the wastewater treatment and batch treatment
systems. Assists in maintaining RO/DI water quality. Aids
manufacturing and environmental, health and safety requests, as
directed by manager. Persistently keeps accurate records of daily
activities and effluent quality. Actively complies with
environmental and safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
Maintains a safe and clean work area, independently. Is on call and
is available to come in early and/or stay late as requested by

Ability to read, write and communicate in English to the degree

with process chemicals Education and Experience: High School
Diploma or equivalent required Associates Degree in Chemistry
preferred Minimum one year experience working in an environmental /
safety role in a 24/7 manufacturing environment Some mechanical
