Job DescriptionJob Description: SummaryUtilizes knowledge to program, set-up, operate and inspect a variety of CNC and manual machines to efficiently produce prototype and production parts to specification.Responsibilities: Works with a variety of materials, tooling, and machine operations Interprets engineering drawings and sketches to plan, layout, and establish set-up procedures Inspects first-run and in-process parts using precision measuring equipment Promptly and accurately completes all required recordkeeping Performs machine maintenance per preventive maintenance instructions Maintains the machine and surrounding working clean, safe and organized using 5S practices May develop and improve machine processes and documents process data sheets Complete deburr process as directed by area supervisor Maintain security and confidentiality of customer and internal products and documentation Participate in providing timely feedback to upstream and downstream operations as appropriate Proactively participate in site Lean engagement and activities. Provide feedback on ways to reduce scrap created within the process by recommending corrective action to reduce or eliminating root cause. Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor. Comply and follow all company security policies and procedures. May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Able to perform all the essential functions and competencies listed above plus Level 1 duties Works with a wide variety of materials, tooling, and machine operations Cross-trained in all assigned operations and/or is a specialist or SME in at least one involved process. Able to use and operate a wide variety of tools and machine operations Able to work with materials and equipment to produce parts that are of a moderate degree of complexity Interprets moderately complex engineering drawings and blueprints using associated principles Develops and improves machine processes and writes data sheets as directed by supervisor or responsible engineer Works with moderately complex processes and challenging customer expectations Able to use independent judgment with minimum oversight by supervision. Serves as a mentor to lesser skilled employees Experience in uploading, downloading and detailed editing of CNC programs Capable of working with a wide variety of materials, selecting appropriate speeds, feeds and tooling Thorough knowledge of specialized cutting tool selection Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures Ability to handle multiple and frequently changing priorities Strong analytical and problem solving skills Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignmentsOther information:2-year technical degree preferred or equivalent education and experience approved by management 5+ experience in CNC programming and processing software Ability to read, interpret and understand blueprints Ability to write reports, document processes and procedures 3+ years in a machinist leadership/mentor role Ability to read, write, and perform basic-intermediate mathPay: $35 per hour$35 - Based on Experience
