Come be a part of our team and make a difference!PACE is searching for a caring and self-motivated Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to be a part of our K-12 School campus in Santa Clara.By choosing to join our team, you will have the opportunity to:Improve the quality of life for students with moderate to severe autism, ages 6-22Enjoy more work/life balanceCollaborate and work alongside other dedicated professionals, including other SLP's, Occupational Therapists, Special Education Teachers, and behavioral support specialistsGrow as a professional by accessing our continuing education budget to obtain CEUsWork in a supportive environment without the bureaucracy of a District job403b Retirement plan with 5% match!*Supportive and caring environment*Sign-on bonus may be subject to acceptable performance and a waiting period.Essential Functions Include:Conduct screening and testing of students to determine goalsPrepare assessment reportsActively participate in the development of the students' Individualized Education Program (IEP) goalsConsult with teachers on follow-through activities for students within their caseloadObserve and work directly with students either on an individual or group basis towards their communication goalsDevelop curriculum for student based on assessment of communication goalsModify the students' program based on periodic evaluation to help curve behaviors and promote communication goalsMaintain students' speech recordsParticipate in staff development programsMeet with parents regarding their student's progress as requestedDesired Skills and ExperienceMust have CCC; CFY and SLPA candidates are encouraged to applyMust have appropriate California CredentialAt least 1 year experience with autism and other developmental disabilities preferredMust be able to understand the principles and techniques of language, speech and hearing services with emphasis on Moderate to Severe DD populationsKnowledge of AAC and/or visual structure is highly preferredMust be able to work in a dynamic environment which requires thinking on your feetMust be able to work in a team-oriented environmentMust have proven organizational capabilitiesKnowledge, Skill and ExperienceThe candidate must possess the following minimum requirements for consideration as a certified Speech Language PathologistAge - 21 years of age or olderEducation - Masters degree in Speech Language PathologyCertifications - A valid California license from the Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Board as a Speech Pathologist.Experience -. Four or more years working in the field with at least 1 year of direct experience with individuals in special education affected by severe Autism or similar developmental disability.Communication Skills - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including speaking, writing, listening, motivating, inspiring, collaborating, delegating. Self-starter and team player.Organizational Skills - Strong organizational skills with the ability to track and follow-up with multiple, simultaneous projects.Technical Skills - Proficiency in understanding and utilizing Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) methods.Driver - Posses a valid California driver's license with a good driving record and proof of insurance.
