Sr./Practitioner in Residence - Seton Hall University School of Law, Center for Social JusticePosition:
The Sr./Practitioner in Residence is a staff attorney who will represent detained immigrants in New Jersey in federal court habeas litigation, as well as removal proceedings before the immigration court and the Board of Immigration Appeals. The Practitioner in Residence will work with other Practitioners, Fellows, the Managing Attorney, and faculty in the Immigrants'' Rights/International Human Rights Clinic, along with a paralegal and clinic students, externs, and pro bono volunteers.Responsibilities:

• Represent immigrants in federal court habeas litigation, proceedings before the immigration court, the Board of Immigration Appeals, and other legal proceedings related to the immigration case. Representation includes client interviewing, drafting and filing court petitions, and court appearances.
• Attend meetings with other attorneys and staff working on the state-wide universal representation project for detained immigrants, including meetings at Seton Hall Law School and general coalition meetings.
• Track client work and prepare grant reports.
• Supervise work of law students and attorneysQualifications:
  • J.D. law degree
