Growing, international Pharmaceutical and Diagnostics company is expanding their team! Our internal Clinical Services team provides bacterial (aerobic and anaerobic) and mammalian cell lines to our internal stakeholders. We also provide isolated DNA and RNA samples for internal use.If you have great lab hands and can make cultures grow and expand with ease, this is the job for you! We are a supportive team working onsite Monday - Friday. No weekend cell feedings are needed.Join a dedicated team of scientists within the Biospecimen Acquisition and Management team. Our team plays a crucial role in delivering biological materials to support product launches in Molecular and Near Patient Care areas. The BioSpecimen Acquisition and Management function supports the acquisition, characterization, and management of biological materials, as well as building panels for clinical research and cultivating microorganisms and mammalian cell lines.As a Scientist II, you will facilitate daily laboratory operations and manage sample delivery to fulfill service requests, providing critical materials for new product launches.This position is based on-site in Pleasanton, California. Local candidates only.Specific Responsibilities

• Execute assigned project activities using established procedures, applying scientific knowledge to manipulate human cell lines, microorganisms, and other biological materials.
• Perform microbiological techniques to culture bacterial isolates under aerobic and anaerobic conditions for banking and delivery.
• Maintain and optimize microbial growth under various conditions.
• Make recommendations to resolve procedural problems.
• Plan and execute work independently; may act as a project lead.
• Maintain scientific knowledge and resolve moderate scope problems.
• Analyze approaches, develop new perspectives, and summarize experimental results.
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of projects, tasks, and activities; communicate results via reports and presentations.
• Manage electronic records accurately and in compliance with validated systems.
• Follow safety guidelines and participate in lab maintenance, safety, ISO, and QSR procedures.Position Requirements & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Molecular, Cellular Biology, Microbiology, or related field with 4+ years of relevant experience, or
• Master's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with aseptic techniques and bacterial or cell culture.
• Experience with anaerobic chambers preferred.
• Knowledge of microbial taxonomy, identification, and techniques like MALDI-TOF.
• Ability to manipulate samples manually (plating, pipetting, labeling).
• Ability to work in a BSL-2 environment with infectious materials.
• Strong teamwork and understanding of good laboratory practices.Preferred skills include project flexibility, analytical and problem-solving skills, independent working ability, knowledge of LIMS and eLN, ddPCR experience, and client-facing experience.
