Job Description:
Position Summary Our team is hiring local and traveling Sterile
Processing Technicians to support our growing team. The sterile
processing technician's responsibilities include retrieving
contaminated supplies and delivering sterile supplies, maintaining
inventory, and preparing sterile instrument trays for surgeries,
examinations, and procedures. We're looking for a self-starter who
can manage their time effectively. The role requires drive and a
sense of accountability because the day-to-day working environment
will involve very little direct supervision. Sterile Processing
Responsibilities Collecting used and contaminated equipment,
instruments, and supplies for sorting and decontamination. Manually
cleaning supplies of contaminants, remove waste matter, and
operating and maintaining decontamination equipment. Preparing and
packing decontaminated supplies for sterilization. Monitoring and
operating sterilization equipment. Examining supplies meticulously
to ensure they are properly cleaned and sanitized. Testing and
reporting any issues or problems with the sterilization equipment.
Sterilizing, preparing, wrapping, and organizing equipment into
instrument trays for use during medical procedures. Preparing and
delivering all necessary equipment and instruments for surgeries,
examinations, medical procedures, and medical carts. Maintaining
records of sterilization procedures, sterilized items, equipment
maintenance, and supplies. Controlling the inventory, reordering
supplies, and checking expiration dates. Sterile Processing
Technician Qualifications / Skills: Use of medical technologies
Creating a safe, effective environment Proven ability to work
within a team. Good oral and written communication skills Knowledge
of and commitment to quality improvement. Sterilizing Technology
internal and external courses attendance. Flexible approach to work
practices. Computer literacy. Sterile Processing Technician
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements: High school
diploma or equivalent 3-4 years experience in a Sterile Processing
Department required. Certified SPD Technician preferred Must be
able to speak, read, write and understand medical terminology in
order to follow written instructions and complete various forms and
records regarding equipments processing and preparation of
equipments. Must be able to regularly lift to 30 lbs., stoop, bend,
pull, and place and retrieve material. Additional Information
