Overview:
Salary details: $35.29/hr. - $44.11/hr. based on experience. -
-Under occasional supervision, the Foreperson, Carpentry is
responsible for supervising the personnel and daily operations of
the Mill Shop; participates in new construction,remodeling work,
masonry and pavement work. - Performs and supervises crew members
in the inspection, structural maintenance and repair of Park rides.
Performs related supervisory and technical work as required.
Reports to the Facilities Manager. -
Responsibilities:
- Performs carpentry work as needed.
- Operates a vehicle, forklift, manlift, crane, and a variety of
equipment such as a computer, copier, calculator, telephone,
two-way radio, etc.
- Refers to policy and procedure manuals, blueprints,
specifications, safety manuals, computer manuals, etc.
- Prepares and/or processes purchase requisitions, production
reports, performance appraisals, training reports, accident
reports, work schedules, etc.
- Receives and reviews various records and reports including work
orders, work requests, memos, invoices, budget reports, etc.
- Contracts external vendors as needed and oversees the work of
contractors.
- Troubleshoots and makes minor repairs to equipment as needed;
maintains tool and equipment inventory.
- Establishes cost estimates and work schedules for all work
assigned to the department. - Responsible for completing assigned
work in prescribed deadlines.
- Orders materials and supplies required for department projects
and strives to ensure delivery of goods as not to delay
projects.
- Works with Manager to ensure implementation of and compliance
with department budgets; manages department budgets; ensures the
cost-efficiency of operations and purchases.
- Inspects work in progress to ensure compliance with established
plans, specifications, contracts, schedules, and standards of
quality and safety.
- Coordinates the daily activities of assigned units to control
production quality, quantity and safety.
- Monitors maintenance needs in areas of responsibility and
delegates assignments.
- Reviews the work of subordinates for effectiveness,
completeness, timeliness in completion and accuracy; evaluates and
makes recommendations as appropriate; offers training, advice and
assistance as needed.
- Supervises subordinate skilled and semi-skilled staff;
supervisory duties include scheduling; instructing; assigning,
reviewing and planning work of others; maintaining standards;
coordinating activities; allocating personnel; selecting new
employees; acting on employee problems; and recommending employee
discipline, promotions and transfers, and discharge.
- Plans, coordinates, manages and participates in the daily
operations of the Mill Shop as well as new construction, remodeling
work, masonry and pavement maintenance.
- Provides guest service according to Cedar Fair standards when
serving the guest or working with subordinates, including
initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving
directions.
- Maintains cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and
performs all duties in compliance with Cedar Fair Safety guidelines
and requirements and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to
supervision.
- Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights,
weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.
- Meets Cedar Fair's attendance requirements as outlined in Cedar
Fair's attendance policies.
- Adheres to Cedar Fair's Rules of Conduct including specific
costuming and grooming standards as outlined in Employee
- Guidelines and other park/division specific policies and
procedures.
- Other duties may be assigned. -
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of prior leadership experience
- At least 3-5 years of construction, wood manufacturing,
remodeling, dry wall, etc. experience. -
- Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company
policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
- Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or
older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal,
DMV, previous employment, education, and personal references, per
Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial
law.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet
business needs.
- Valid Driver's License -
