Join us as we shape the future of the car and everyone around it.Role SummaryThe SoC Performance Modeling Architect Sr Staff will own the task of workload and performance modeling for one or more applications (eg Vision processing, Sensor Fusion, SLAM, Path Planning) running on a target platform for L2++, L3/L4 autonomous driving.Role -Responsibilities -Workload and Performance modeling -

  • Work in close collaboration with the SoC architects, systems and function owners of L2++, L3/L4 autonomous driving (Vision processing, Sensor Fusion, SLAM, Path Planning) to understand the workloads along with the algorithms and create corresponding task graphs for virtual platform prototyping. -
  • Extract traces of applications running on previous hardware platforms to port and modify for workload modeling on virtual platform for next generation architecture.
  • Create Virtual hardware platforms for target applications involving VPU, memory sub-systems, Interconnects, and accelerators.
  • Map application performance model to hardware performance model.
  • Capture (KPIs) that apply to the applications as part of architectural exploration.
  • Run simulation on Virtual Platform.
  • Work with SoC Architects to analyze simulation results to analyze performance, validate if they meet the architectural requirements, and identify bottlenecks.Years of Experience
    • 5+ years' experience in SoC or CPU Performance Modeling
    • 7+ years' experience in hardware platform developmentRequired Education
      • -Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.Desired Education
        • -Master's/PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer ScienceSkills:
          • Analytical and conceptual thinking
          • Hands on work experience in various steps on virtual prototyping and performance modeling
          • Communication skills - interpersonal, presentation and written.
          • Integration - joining people, processes or systems
          • Influencing and negotiation skills
          • Strategic/visionary minded
          • Resource managementRequired Skills:
            • Deep knowledge and understanding of virtual prototyping, workload, and performance modeling.
            • Must have hands experience in one or more of the following:
              • Mapping application workload to task graphs,
              • HW performance model creation and integration,
              • encapsulation,
              • workload mapping to HW performance model,
              • KPI instrumentation,
              • simulation and results analysis.
              • Proven track record in having executed at least one product from proof of concept to successful production with virtual prototyping.
              • Strong knowledge and experience in C++, SystemC and TLM
              • Understanding system architectural trade-offs with CPU, GPU, ISP, NPU, Interconnects, Memory sub-system.
              • Hands on experience on Synopsys Platform Architect or similar toolsDesired Skills
                • Understanding of HPC and scalable architecture, compute and modeling.
                • Understanding and knowledge of heterogeneous SoC.
                • Understanding of autonomous driving pipeline and its compute needs
                • Understanding of distributed computing
                • Good -problem solving and analytical skills.
                • Understanding of CXL and UCIe architecture.
                • Understanding of HW-SW co-working in modern embedded SoCs.Work Flexibility
                  • -Travel to worldwide locations required, less than 20%CompensationSalary range is dependent on factors such as geographical differentials, credentials or certifications, industry-based experience, qualification and training. In the city of Santa Clara, California, the salary range for this position is $132,400 - $202, 000.CARIAD, Inc. provides performance based merits and annual bonus along with a competitive benefits package.
