CLIENT OVERVIEWOur client is a well-established, international,
fast growing, but stable technology driven Optical/Photonics firm
with a multimillion-dollar product line of optical
test/metrology/laser material processing instruments / equipment
used in a variety of process driven industries. Our client's
products are sold to OEM's and technology companies as an enabling
tool, an add-on technology enhancement to their own processing
equipment.SUMMARYOur client is seeking a self-motivated, confident,
established technologist who has worked with materials processing
applications utilizing industrial lasers. As a customer facing
technologist, aspiring to and enjoying hands on Applications and
Sales would come naturally to this person as they already face
and/or interact with customers and enjoy being customer centric.
The successful candidate would have great communication skills, be
an experienced technologist who can solve challenging application
problems with customers, and through their applications role help
cultivate new customers to further the growth and development of
the region. This Sales/Apps Manager will be based in the Bay Area
office located in Santa Clara and report to the Head of Sales for
the Western Region. The ideal candidate needs to be technically
highly competent and passionate as well as possess solid industrial
laser materials processing experience.PRIMARY
RESPONSIBILITIESMaintain, Grow, Support the business for the
Industrial Laser Processing product line through new business
development, existing customer support, key account management,
product demonstrations and customized applications solutions for
existing and new customers.REQUIREMENTS --- Enhances and further
develops existing customer relationships and establishes new
business opportunities through an understanding of optics,
industrial lasers, beam delivery components, and materials
processing (cutting, welding, and process monitoring) applications
of our client's products. --- Conducts product demonstrations at
Bay Area office, at trade shows, or at customer sites as needed.
--- Assists in marketing efforts like trade shows, newsletters, and
technical articles or white papers. --- Monitor competition, the
competitive landscape by gathering current marketplace information
on the product roadmap, competitive product capabilities, new
technology developments, etc. --- Finds customized solutions with
customers or recommends new products, service, and policy by
evaluating customer results and competitive developments. ---
Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems; developing
solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management
and teaming with Sales.KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE --- A BS or higher
degree in a relevant technical discipline (e.g., physics, chemical
/ electrical/mechanical engineering) and relevant technical
experience. --- 5+ years of applications engineering, and or
customer facing support in industrial laser/materials processing
--- Experience maintaining and growing sales of sophisticated
technical products. --- Experience selling to OEM's and technology
companies.
